In absence of major economic data in the day, investors continued to digest generally positive economic data from the world's largest economy the prior day, which helped Wall Street go higher Thursday, shrugging off concerns that interest rate hike may come earlier than expected.

A robust gain in shares of mainland China on Friday also provided a boost to the U.S. market, as China's securities regulator announced regulations for a preferred stock trial. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 2.7 percent responding to the news.

RIO DE JANEIRO， April 14 (Xinhua) -- Rio 2016 organizers have put on sale an additional one million tickets for this year's Olympic Games in one of the last chances for fans to attend the quadrennial event.

The batch includes tickets of the men's basketball and football finals， and the opening ceremony， the official Agencia Brasil news service said on Thursday.

About 5.7 million tickets have already been made available for the Games， of which 3.5 million have been sold.

There was no information about when the current ticketing phase would end.

The first Olympics in South America will be held from August 5 to 21 and will be followed by the Paralympic Games from September 7 to 18.

KATHMANDU， Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Ninety percent of Nepal's mobile set imports took place from China in the last fiscal year 2015-16 that concluded in mid-July， Nepal's Department of Customs (DoC) said.

Nepal imported 4，477，162 handsets from China against the total import of 5，005，499， according to DoC. This means around 90 percent of the handsets were imported from the northern neighbour of the Himalayan country.

Nepalese customs officials and mobile dealers said that as most of the mobile sets of global brands are manufactured in China and shipped globally， China has emerged as the largest supplier to Nepal.

In value， Nepal spent 169 million U.S. dollars to import the mobile sets， of which mobiles worth 129 million U.S. dollars were imported from China.

After China， Vietnam became the second largest supplier to Nepal with Nepal importing a total of 434，645 handsets from Vietnam whereas India came third with the supply of 90，030 mobile sets in the last fiscal year.

Sishir Dhungana， director general of DoC told Xinhua that as most of global mobile brands manufacture their products in China， Nepal received largest number of them from the northern neighbour.

"From Apple to Samsung and Indian brands like Karabonn and Micromax are also manufactured in China，" said Dhungana.

Importers also make similar statements. Sirish Murarka， director of Pashupati Trade Link， the authorized distributor of Micromax mobile in Nepal， told Xinhua that their 80 percent of sets are imported from China despite being an Indian brand.

"We import mobile sets from both China and India， but the supply from China is bigger in quantity now，" he said.

BAGHDAD, April 27 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi paramilitary units, known as Hashd Shaabi, retook control of the town of Hatra in the south of Iraq's northern province of Nineveh on Thursday  Shawn Kelley Nationals Jersey , after clashes with Islamic State (IS) militants, the paramilitary units said.

"The paramilitary fighters, backed by the army's helicopter gunships, completely freed the small town of Hatra after they drove out the IS militants from the town, some 100 km southwest of Mosul  Sean Doolittle Nationals Jersey ," the media office of the predominantly Shiite Hashd Shaabi said in a statement.

Hundreds of the Hashd Shaabi fighters entered the town from the southern edge and fought sporadic clashes against the IS militants while they freed its neighborhoods, the media office said.

Afterwards, the Hashd Shaabi fighters launched a clearing campaign in the buildings of the town, searching for suspected IS militants and defusing roadside bombs and booby-trapped buildings, the statement said.

The recapture came on the third day of an operation launched by the Hashd Shaabi units to dislodge IS militants from their desert stronghold in the town of Hatra  Ryan Zimmerman Nationals Jersey , which bears the same name as the damaged ancient city of Hatra.

On Wednesday, the paramilitary units freed the IS-held archaeological site after clashes with its militants, according to an earlier statement by the Hashd Shaabi media office.
