ABUJA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's Senate President David Mark on Thursday ordered the immediate closure of the Upper and Lower houses of the West African country's bicameral legislature following an earlier invasion by police.

Mark condemned the invasion by police and other state security operatives resulting in shooting of tear gas to disperse members of the parliament ahead of a key sitting.
