Adidas Originals elevated the Superstar
Hender Scheme remakes shoes in premium, vegetable-tanned leather by hand in Japan. As the leather's natural color develops a patina over time, the ultimate result is something new that appeals to an entirely different kind of sneakerhead, which is likely why the companies that created the originals haven't tried to stop Hender Scheme.Adidas, in fact, is encouraging Hender Scheme's copies. The two brands have teamed up for a multi-season collaboration that kicks off with three Adidas styles remade by Hender Scheme: The  adidas superstar, the NMD, and the Micropacer. The reproductions—still done by hand in Hender Scheme's high-end leather—will bear both company's logos.
The under-the-radar designer is about to expand his audience with a highly unusual partnership with adidas superstar kvinder that turns the traditional sneaker collaboration model on its head. The first iteration of the tie-up is limited to three styles from the Adidas catalogue — a MicroPacer stripped of its pedometer; an NMD reimagined with its "Boost" midsole removed; and a Superstar — all rendered in Hender Scheme's signature pastel tones. But critically, Hender Scheme is producing the sneakers and not Adidas. Indeed, each of the collaboration's 900 pairs are being made by hand in the same ateliers as Hender Scheme's core offering, using the same leather. The sneakers will bear Adidas branding, but otherwise will look unmistakably Hender Scheme.
With their adidas EQT 93-17 Boost collaboration releasing some time in the near future, today we take a look at another project from White Mountaineering and adidas.This time around they have taken the adidas superstar slip on and dressed it up in two different colorways. The first comes in a blue Primeknit upper with three stripes elastic band overlays in white. The second pair comes covered in white with black three stripes branding. Both pairs are then finished off with White Mountaineering branding on the heel counter.The adidas Superstar Slip On is constructed out of an upper that comes equipped with criss-cross elastic straps that take the place on the normal lacing system we're used to seeing on the model.
The adidas superstar 80s is a sneaker that will NEVER go out of style no matter how much time passes by. The silhouette is cemented in history and will always be appreciated by fans of sneaker culture. Today we bring you a new colorway that bring this North Carolina vibes along with it as the shoes features an all-white leather upper with accompanying light blue accents on the three stripes branding and heel tab. Gold detailing can then be seen on the adidas branding on the tongue as well as on the "Superstar" writing on the side panels. Breathable mesh replaces what was once knit, making it a viable option as it warms up outside. A single elastic strap extends from the shell toe and loops around the vamp. |
